Kantha Quilts were invented centuries ago in India from need. Poor women in areas of West Bengal needed blankets for their babies so they took the softest part of their saris and placed them together with an all over stitch now known as the "kantha"
Today our Artisan Partners in India repurpose traditional Kantha quilts into beautiful, one-of a kind Bags.

All of our products are handmade and some are made from recycled materials. Actual pieces may vary slightly because each piece is made by hand. Each product may look different in colour and size from samples shown by One Earth Consultants, images shown online or on printed material. Please note that items made of bronze and other metals will oxidize over time, turning a darker, more muted colour.
We hope that you enjoy your unique, one-of-a-kind piece :)
